Car Charging App
E-Space is an application designed for electric car drivers to charge their cars. It allows users to find chargers, connect to them, and pay all at once.
I was tasked with redesigning the entire application’s experience and interface, adding new features if necessary, and enhancing existing ones. To achieve this, I conducted UX research and gathered information on best practices and user feedback. With all the necessary data, I created wireframes and visual guidelines, and finally worked on the UI part of the product.
The redesign focused on improving the user journey, making the interface more intuitive, and ensuring seamless integration of new features. User testing and iterative design processes were employed to refine the app, resulting in a more user-friendly and efficient experience.
Main Features
I decided to make the interface as simple and minimalistic as possible, as drivers may not have much time to navigate it.
Number of chargers indicated on the map
Colors communicate their availability
Traffic is shown to the user too
System suggests the nearest chargers
Users can save their favorite charging stations
In-app notifications for charging status updates
Payment history and receipts available in the app
Information Architecture
I worked on the information architecture for the charger’s page and organized all sections more logically.
I added symbols for plugs so users can easily find the one compatible with their cars
There is a simple calculator to better understand rates
Checkout
Simple Design
The interface suggests only the main information about the energy level, charging options, and payment methods.
Users can charge their car to the preferred level.
The scheduling function lets users choose a convenient time to charge their car before arriving at the station.
Charging
That page is the most informative one in this flow. As the user has some spare time while waiting for the car to charge, we can offer them lots of interesting things:
We show their impact on the ecosystem, which increases their gratification.
There is a small informative blog about e-charging or electric cars.
