Project Title: Banking App - Modern Banking Experience Redefined

Overview:
This banking app concept aims to simplify financial management through a modern, user-friendly mobile experience. It reflects a successful but undisclosed project. I adapted the style to suggest a more crypto-inspired environment with smooth aesthetics. In this case study, however, I will focus on the onboarding flow, which was a significant issue for the client. Since banking apps require extensive verification, simplifying the onboarding process was crucial.

Project Goals:

  1. Seamless Onboarding flow: Create an interface that is intuitive and easy to navigate, making registration flow accessible and stress-free for all users.

  2. Visually Appealing Functionality: Incorporate essential banking features like account management, transaction history, and fund transfers in a compact design.


Onboarding Flow

The challenge was that I had only three days to identify problems and develop solutions. This made it nearly impossible to plan and conduct UX research, find interviewees, analyze challenges, and subsequently propose solutions. Instead, I introduced my own method, focusing on analyzing interactions based on the physical and mental effort required to complete the flow.
By structuring the pages around this framework, I was able to simplify each step, reduce the number of pages, and replace several actions with simpler alternatives. Additionally, I prepared a presentation that showcased progress not only visually but also mathematically, by calculating the total effort for each flow and presenting the improvement as a percentage. Design Process:
To ensure the app met user expectations for modern banking, I also analyzed leading fintech apps to identify current trends and best practices in mobile banking UX/UI. I then applied these insights to design a clean, visually appealing interface that prioritizes usability, accessibility, and quick access to core banking functions.

My Key Contributions:

  • UI/UX Design: Developed a streamlined, minimalistic interface for the onboarding flow focused on clarity and ease of use, helping users manage their finances with confidence.

  • Branding and Aesthetic: Designed a modern visual style that reflects the professionalism and reliability expected in a banking app, while incorporating a touch of warmth to make the app more approachable.
